Who can apply for admission:
-
Students at secondary school in the equivalent to the second year of 'bachillerato LOGSE’ in Spain, independently of the school syllabus option and the university district where they live.
-
Prior to registering, students who have completed their secondary education abroad or proceed from foreign educational systems must accredit that they fulfil all the requisites and have completed all the procedures required under prevailing Spanish law and regulations in respect of Spanish universities, in order to be admitted as students of the Complutense University of Madrid (CUNEF).
2. Candidates must take the admission tests (as from 1st March) and candidates are given appointments for this purpose. The admission process takes place at CUNEF and requires the pre-payment of an examination fee of €60 which must be disbursed by making a deposit or a transfer to the CUNEF bank account number 0030/1542/59/0000003271 at Banesto, Glorieta de Bilbao 6, Madrid, indicating the full name of the student and adding the observation “admission tests”. This fee is not under any circumstances reimbursable.
Annually, CUNEF publishes the dates for admission tests (from March to May). Candidates interested in participating must choose a date from amongst those indicated or, in exceptional cases, apply for an admission test on another date by completing the application form for this purpose.
The purpose of the admission process is to evaluate each candidate on the basis of the previous academic record and the aptitudes and capacities demonstrated during the admission tests. The admission tests last approximately two hours and consist of:
-
Psychometric Testing (to evaluate aptitudes)
-
Level of English Testing. This test will only be critical for candidates for the bilingual degree in Business Administration, for which a high level of English is required. (Students who can certify their level of English to the satisfaction of CUNEF will be exempt from this test).
-
General entrance exam
-
Personal interview
The result of the admission tests will be notified to candidates in writing approximately one week after taking them. Tests for freshman students take place between the months of March and May and, exceptionally, during the first half of June.
Since only a limited number of places are available for each degree, candidates are recommended to take the admission tests as early as possible.
3. Reserve a place conditioned on passing the general university entrance exam (in Spain, ‘PAU’ or ‘selectividad’) at the first sitting. Following reception of notification of the result of the admission process, conditionally accepted candidates must pay a reservation fee €1.000 within the time period indicated in the acceptance letter and send the receipt of payment to:
CUNEF

This fee is not reimbursable if the candidate finally decides not to take up the place, with the exception of candidates who fail to pass the general university entrance examination at their first sitting in June.
The reservation fee will be considered to be a payment in advance and the amount will be deducted from the annual tuition fees after the candidate has formally registered as a student of CUNEF.
4. Pre-registration and registration at the Complutense University of Madrid.
